Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS)

Everything you need to know about OEAS

Surrey Online School works with an online education provider that is accredited by the Department for Education under the Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS).

OEAS is a non-statutory accreditation scheme introduced by the Department for Education to assess the quality and safeguarding arrangements of full-time online education providers in England.

Accreditation under OEAS means the provider has been independently reviewed against the Department for Education’s standards, providing assurance around the quality and safety of the online provision being delivered.

OEAS accreditation is not the same as statutory registration. Online education providers cannot register with the Department for Education in the same way as schools.
