Surrey Online School (SOS) is an initiative that provides live online lessons to a range of pupils across the county.
Surrey Online School (SOS) is an initiative partnering Surrey County Council & Tute Education. SOS provides live online lessons as well as mentoring support (GCSE package only) to a range of pupils (KS2-KS4) across the county. It started in September 2015 and has grown rapidly.
The SOS team work closely with Surrey schools and provide a personalised service ensuring that the setup process is smooth and the course appropriate for the students. They will liaise with the named school contacts and can be contacted in case of any issues or when additional support is required. Depending on the package purchased, the SOS team will also conduct home visits and offer additional support to the student as well as liaising with Surrey A2E (GCSE package only). Equipment may also be loaned from SOS depending on circumstances and package purchased.
Since it has been in operation SOS has delivered over 750 placements to in excess of 50 schools and council services.
Demand for the provision is increasing rapidly.
